Managing your Database

Return to chapter overview

RowPro contains an extensive Database which includes each user's training plans and digital rowing log. The Database is located in the RowPro folder on your hard disk.

It's important that you manage your database carefully, particularly as it gets larger.

Backups

RowPro includes a backup and restore utility to help you protect against loss of your precious rowing data. Of course it's up to you to use this regularly. Digital Rowing strongly recommends that you take regular backups of your Database to ensure you don't lose valuable information, in particular from your rowing log, in the event that your PC has a problem.

Record management

Over a long time your database can grow quite large, particularly if you regularly save stroke data. RowPro enables you to trim your database by removing unwanted stroke data.

Database backup and restore

To back up your database, click the Backup button and specify the location and filename of the backup. By default, RowPro puts backups in the Backups subdirectory under the main RowPro program directory, and uses the current date and time in the backup filename. For example a backup taken on January 6, 2003 at 9:33:32 am will be named RowPro20030106093332.
If you need to restore your Database, open the Control Center, click the System Settings tab, click Restore, browse to the backup you want to restore, and click Open.
