Troubleshooting Download
If you are unable to download RowPro and/or you get an error message, possible causes are:
Internet connection size or quality
The RowProSetup.exe package is about 60 MB to download, however if you need to update your PC, the Microsoft .Net Framework download pack is over 20 MB and some of the Windows Service Packs are far larger again.
Downloading these items over a standard telephone line will take many hours, and is not recommended except for the hardiest of souls. It is however possible to download the RowProSetup.exe package, write it onto a CD-R disk, and then install it from the CD-R disk. This is the recommended solution for anyone who does not have a high-speed Internet connection but can get access to one somewhere else.
You may also have RowPro on CD already if you have the Software for your PM CD that ships with every PM4 and PM3. Even though this may not be the current version of RowPro, if you install the CD version first, it will install the Microsoft .Net Framework from the CD, then you can download just the latest RowProSetup.exe package. You will still need to have the correct Windows Service Pack, and if you don't already have this you will still need to download it separately from Microsoft at www.microsoft.com.
If you have a CD burner that can burn iso files (most can) then you can get the latest version of RowPro, including the .Net Framework and all RowPro documentation, by downloading RowProCD.iso from www.digitalrowing.com/download and burning it to CD.

Troubleshooting Installation
If you are unable to install RowPro and/or you get an error message, possible causes are:
RowPro setup package
RowPro uses InstallShield as its installation system. If you get an InstallShield error when you run a downloaded version of RowProSetup.exe, this may mean the installation package is corrupt.
To fix this, download another copy of RowProSetup.exe and try again.
PC configuration
The InstallShield Wizard performs a number of basic checks on installation (for example it needs to find a Pentium processor running Windows XP or Vista), and will not install RowPro if any of these basic checks fail.
The Wizard will inform you what caused the failure, and you then need to remedy that problem so the installation can proceed. Please carefully check the Download and Installation Help Topic and ensure your PC meets the minimum specification listed there.
You may also run out of disk space during installation, particularly when installing Windows Service Packs and/or the Microsoft.Net Framework prior to installing RowPro. Apart from getting a bigger disk, the only remedy is to free up disk space, which you can potentially do by right-clicking the target disk drive in Windows Explorer, selecting Properties and clicking the Disk Cleanup button.
Antivirus software
Some Antivirus software blocks installers from installing software based on internal rules.
To check if this is the cause, you can temporarily disable your antivirus software. If RowPro then installs normally, you'll know your antivirus software was the problem.
Vista User Account Control
Windows Vista has a system called User Access Control (UAC) that controls who can do what in Windows. Depending on your UAC settings, you may need to install RowPro as an Administrator. To do this, right-click on the RowProSetup.exe launch icon and click Run as Administrator.
