Completely removing and re-installing RowPro

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

The steps for a complete removal and clean reinstallation of RowPro are listed below. These steps will remove and reinstall:

RowPro
Crystal Reports
The Microsoft .Net Framework

This is the most complete removal you can do short of rebuilding Windows itself.

First the removal:

1.Uninstall RowPro using the Windows Add / Remove Programs utility. This will also uninstall the Crystal Reports installed by RowPro.
2.While you're in the Windows Add / Remove Programs utility, look for a Crystal Reports for .Net entry, and if it's there, remove it. You may get a message saying this is not a valid step - if so, just click OK and the Crystal entry will be removed anyway.
3.Now uninstall the Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0 using the Windows Add / Remove Programs utility.

OK, that's everything uninstalled. Now the clean-up:

1.In Windows Explorer, find the folder ..\Program Files\Digital Rowing\RowPro and rename the folder RowProXXX.
2.In Windows Explorer, look in the folder ..\Program Files\Common Files\Business Objects for a 2.7 folder. If a 2.7 folder exists, delete it and all its sub-folders and contents.
3.You should now clean your Windows Registry using a Registry cleaning utility like Registry Fix from www.RegistryFix.com.

Now the reinstallation:

1.Download and run RowProSetup.exe from www.digitalrowing.com/download to install the latest version of RowPro, together with the Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0 and Crystal Reports.

RowPro should now work properly. It will have a new empty database. If you had data in a previous installation of RowPro, you can recover it by following the steps below. Please follow these steps very carefully - take extra care to ensure you're in the correct folder each time:

1.If RowPro is running, close it.
2.Find the Rowing.mdb file in the folder ..\Program Files\Digital Rowing\RowProXXX.

Note: This file might just be named Rowing (without the .mdb) if your PC is set to hide known file extensions.

3.Copy (and be sure to Copy not Move) the Rowing.mdb file from the folder ..\Program Files\Digital Rowing\RowProXXX to the folder ..\Program Files\Digital Rowing\RowPro.
4.You will be asked if you're sure you want to replace the existing Rowing.mdb. Check carefully that you have the correct folders and when you're sure click Yes to replace the file.
5.Start RowPro and open your Rowing Log. You should see your data there.
