Digital Rowing today announced the release of an update for its popular Oarbits App for iPhone and Android phones.

The Oarbits App enables Online Rowing participants to view, create and join Scheduled Rows, view Results and News, and send Messages. "The updated Oarbits App provides all the Oarbits functions already available in RowPro and on the Oarbits web page" said Digital Rowing President Pete Loeffen. "This enables people to reach and use Oarbits anywhere."

In this update, the Oarbits App has been optimized for the latest versions of iPhone and Android technology. "We have completely rewritten the Oarbits App" said Pete Loeffen. "It is now faster and has increased stability, and the user interface in Android is a completely new design."

"We've found that many users prefer to organize their online rowing using the Oarbits App or the Oarbits web page because they can do what they want anytime anywhere " said Pete Loeffen. "Now it's truly mobile, and people love that."

The Oarbits App for iOS works on any iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad. The Oarbits App for Android works on any Android phone.

The Oarbits App has been created using a 'write once target many' development framework that enables a single mobile app to be simultaneously developed and released for more than one device operating system.
